Nest Utensils
Client: Joseph Joseph
Nest Utensils represented a design innovation for Joseph Joseph in a saturated market of kitchen utensils. With a trend for smaller living spaces, Studio17 rethought how utensils, essential for everyday cooking, could be stored: saving space and making them easier to access.
The result is a product comprising of 5 core utensils, stacked together to form a single, sculptural object. A dedicated stand keeps the utensils away from the counter top, with discrete magnetic handles keeping the set nested tightly together, occupying the minimum of space on a counter top.
The 5 tools are those deemed essential for everyday cooking; a ladle, solid spoon, slotted spoon, spaghetti claw and turner. When the utensils are nested, the spectral colours immediately define each tool, making selection and re-assembly easy.
